दिविक रमेश हिंदी के जाने माने कवि हैं .  हाल ही में उन्हें बाल साहित्य के लिए साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार मिला है . उनकी एक प्रसिद्द कविता है "उदासियाँ और माँ" . इस कविता का अंग्रेजी अनुवाद की कोशिश की है . 

Sadness and The Mother

                        - Divik Ramesh 

Sadness also keeps 

A grin

Like a deserted and withered mother too

Abreast an innocent blessing

A grin hides 

In any of the layers 

Within the layer of Sadness 

The way Blessings

Camouflage in the Wrinkles 

Riding on the Mothers forehead  

Whether Sadness smiles or not 

On its Grin

But it Smiles

On the Grin of a humble smiling man

Mother

Never finds a Blessing 

For herself 

Within herself 

Yet She keeps an ocean of 

Benediction

To share and shower upon. 

Sadness Groans

When pushed away 

When Human Wages War against Human 

Mother's Heart Moans 

On the strained Eyebrows of her Children 

Against Each Other.  

Sadness has 

Its own sky, Own Horizon 

Also, Own Earth

Where it conserves precious smiles

The way Mother

Preserves her blessing 

For Her Sky and Earth 

In her dirty years old 'potli'

Which is dearer than life.  

It rains pious 

It rains smiles 

It rains benevolence 

When Sadness turns the mother 

The universe

Comes up front

Like an epic

Which we read aloud

And aloud ....
